Receive & Keep

your Healing

Lets’ picture a scenario:

You or someone you know is experiencing pain and so they go to a special healing ministry event like the Healing Rooms. This person gets prayer and has an amazing experience. They now no longer have pain! They have received an encounter with Jesus and have been healed. They leave very excited and full of faith. Then, they go home, much of life’s stress kicks in, negativity comes maybe by others doubting your healing experience, getting out of touch with life-giving sources and so on. Now, a seed of doubt has been planted. This seed of doubt starts to grow more, little by little. The pain that was no longer starts to come back. It begins to increase and now it is back to the same level as before. Why?

How often do we experience for ourselves or see this happen? Take courage and know that there is actually a solution to this. Each one of us must understand how to receive healing and keep it. The bible can teach us. When we understand God’s word on healing and act upon it, it brings forth a manifestation of healing in our physical bodies. Our goal is to receive the manifestation of healing and give our Heavenly Father the glory for what Jesus has done for us. Here are the key things we must understand.

  • Know the Source: Sickness is the result of an oppression of the devil.

Acts 10:38 says: “and Jesus went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil; for God was with Him.”

John 10:10: “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come, that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

The enemy inflicts us with sickness and doesn’t like it when God’s Word brings healing and destroys his work. He may  try to re-establish his infliction by stealing the truth of God’s Word from us. We can also see this in Matthew 13:19 “When anyone hears the Word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside” (NKJV).

  • Plant yourself on God’s Word

The enemy wants to steal the Word before it can become firmly rooted in us and produce healing. He knows the Word of God is more powerful than his work...sickness, so he must try and cut-off the Word in us before it gets rooted. Only a seed that’s rooted can grow a harvest.

John 15:4  “Remain in me, as I remain in you. No branch can bear fruit unless you remain in me.”

Matthew 13:20-21 says: “And the one on whom seed was sown on rocky places, this is he who hears the Word, and then immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the Word, immediately he falls away.”

When we receive the Word on healing and are prayed for and a healing takes place, we receive it with joy, but it must become firmly rooted in us because the devil may try to inflict us with the very same symptoms to change our minds. Verse 21 says, because of the Word, this affliction will be brought against us once again to cause us to fall away.

The devil may once again bring the symptoms of the sickness to try and convince us that we are not healed. This is a lying vanity. The root meaning of a lying vanity: something that comes against you to change your mind. If the devil can cause us to look at the symptoms instead of God and His promise, he can convince us to believe his lie. When we focus on the symptoms, pain or whatever the problem, doubt and unbelief come into our mind and this gives the enemy a foothold. An entrance for fear to re-establish the sickness.

Ephesians 4:27:  “and do not give the devil a foothold.”

  • Hold Fast: Keep your eyes on Jesus.

Isaiah 26:3:  “I will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon me.”

We must keep our heart and mind fixed upon God and His promises and hold fast to that which is good. We must allow the Word to take root so that it can complete the manifestation of healing.

Jonah is an example of this. He was swallowed up by the whale and was in the whale’s belly for 3 days and 3 nights, yet he did not give up on God and His promise.

Jonah 2:8-9:  “Those who regard lying vanities forsake their faithfulness, (forsake their own source of mercy and loving-kindness) (Amplified Bible), but I will sacrifice to thee with the voice of thanksgiving.” (KJV)

Jonah decided not to believe a lying vanity, but to trust God and because of that, God delivered him out of his circumstance. Had Jonah believed the lie, he would have lost his faith and would not  have been delivered. How can we expect God to deliver us if we go by what the devil does or says rather than trust God?

So if the symptoms return - Reset. We must set our faith in God and His Word once again and tell the enemy (because we can), we are NOT going to believe his lies no matter what!

Proverbs 18:21:  “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

James 4:7:  “Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
